Where state of art is a state of mind.
Skyline is part of the TriStar Health System Family of Hospitals.

CEO Welcome

I am delighted you’ve chosen to visit our website.  Let me take a moment of your time to tell you about our outstanding organization.  Skyline Medical Center is a two-campus facility, offering a comprehensive range of high quality medical services for the region we serve.

Skyline Medical Center, the main campus, is located on a 59-acre site on the highest point in Davidson County.   Overlooking downtown Nashville, we’re conveniently located near the intersections of I-65, Dickerson Pike and Briley Parkway.  Our 196-bed state-of-the-art facility features all private patient rooms and offers the most advanced medical and surgical technologies available along with personalized patient and family-based care. Nationally known for our neuroscience services, Skyline was Tennessee’s first hospital to earn national certification as a Primary Stroke Center.  We are also recognized for our outstanding cardiac, oncology, orthopaedic, rehabilitation and emergency services.  Read more about our services, and take a virtual tour of our facility, here on our website.

Skyline Madison Campus, formerly Tennessee Christian Medical Center, is located in the heart of the Madison community.  Skyline Madison Campus offers the most comprehensive mental health and chemical dependency services available in Middle Tennessee.  With programs available for children through seniors, services are provided in a variety of formats to best accommodate the individual patient - from inpatient care, to partial hospitalization to intensive outpatient care.  Additionally, outstanding resources are available for patients with physical rehabilitation needs.  The Krueger Independence Square Village, the only center of its kind in Middle Tennessee, the Village provides patients the opportunity to hone their skills through simulated situations of everyday life in a convenient, attractive, and motivating environment.  The Village recreates the feeling of a typical Tennessee town, with full-scale replicas of a bank, market, dentist's office, gas station, cafe, and a fully furnished apartment.

Our entire healthcare team is committed to our Mission and Values as we provide healthcare services to the nearly 500,000 people who live or work in the various communities that we serve.  We seek to exceed all of our customers’ expectations by living our Service Values every day.

As we continue our journey together to become THE premier regional medical center for patients from throughout middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky, our staff has earned numerous accolades as our vision becomes a reality.  Here are just a few we know you’ll want to be aware of:

  • “Best Acute Care Hospital” award.  This honor goes only to the 100 top performing quality hospitals in the U.S., based upon data submitted to Medicare for 17 quality measures in the most common conditions that hospitals treat – heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia care.   Skyline is the only Nashville hospital to have been named to the list every time
  • Tennessee’s first hospital to earn "Primary Stroke Center Certification" from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.  Surveyors were so impressed that they asked Skyline to serve as a pilot site to assist other hospitals in earning accreditation
  • Three-year accreditation with commendation for our cancer program by the American College of Surgeon's Commission on Cancer.  Our staff received commendation for six different areas of accomplishment
  • National accreditation from the Society for Chest Pain Physicians and Providers for our Emergency Department’s Chest Pain Center – among the nation’s first!

These outstanding achievements, which rank our hospital among the best in the nation, are credits to the everyday efforts of our physicians, nurses, and staff.  See our News Room for more information on our services, awards, staff and upcoming programs.

And, finally, Skyline and our sister HCA hospitals have an unparalleled commitment to a culture of patient safety.  I encourage you to read more about our focus and our investments in safety by visiting the Patient Safety section.

Thank you for visiting SkylineMedicalCenter.com. If you have questions or suggestions about how we might improve our facility or the services we provide please do not hesitate to let me know.

Sincerely,

Steve Otto
Chief Executive Officer
